How rewards can be used
Annual credit-card reward certificate
Covers rewards on January through December billing statements and is issued after the February billing statement closes. Redeem in a single transaction for cash or merchandise at U.S. Costco warehouses, including Puerto Rico, by December 31 of that year. Maintain Costco membership to redeem. No certificate is issued below $1 or if the account is closed at issuance; closing or converting before distribution forfeits accrued rewards. Citi/Costco may offer alternative distribution or redemption forms.
What qualifies?
Some superstore, supermarket and non-Costco warehouse-club gas/EV purchases earn only 1%, as do non-automobile fuel and convenience-store-coded fuel. Certain bakeries, department-store restaurants and grocery/warehouse-club dining earn 1%; excluded travel includes commuter/train travel, timeshares, campgrounds and bed-and-breakfasts. Nonpurchase transactions do not earn.
Benefits and offers outside this profile
Costco membership charges, Executive membership rewards, insurance, promotions and other benefits are not valued or added to card earnings. This is the personal card, not the business variant.
