3% on dining and drugstores; 1.5% on other modeled purchases.
Drugstore rewards depend on the merchant, not whether an item is a prescription.
The rates we use
| Purchases | Rate | Annual cap |
|---|---|---|
| Dining & takeout | 3% | Uncapped |
| Drugstores | 3% | Uncapped |
| Other eligible purchases | 1.5% | Uncapped |
Annual fee: $0. Other fees may apply.
What qualifies?
Pharmacy purchases inside a supermarket or superstore may not code as drugstore purchases. Merchant coding determines qualification.
Cash redemption assumption
Ultimate Rewards redeemed for cash back at one cent per point.
What this estimate leaves out
Chase Travel bookings, temporary merchant promotions, and points transfers are excluded. This model includes in-person drugstores; online drugstore purchases are excluded because they overlap online retail rewards on other cards.
The calculation assumes full payment and does not include interest, foreign transaction charges, or other fees. This is a rewards comparison, not a credit or borrowing-cost recommendation.
